Our story begins in the 1880s, when the Pearl Theatre building first rose in downtown Buena Vista. For decades, it stood as an original part of the town's fabric, witnessing the growth and evolution of our vibrant community, long before the silver screen lit up its interiors.
In 1911 the Pearl was a bar called Joe &Tonys Saloon!

Becoming The Pearl Theatre
In the 1950s, John and Pearl Groy transformed this historic building into the beloved Pearl Theatre. It quickly became a staple, providing entertainment and culture, creating countless memories for generations of residents and visitors alike. This era marked a golden age of community gathering.

The Pearl received a local landmark designation on May19, 2024!
